Protect your Computer
with Antivirus Software
With more people using the internet to purchase products it has now become
a priority to safe-guard your computer from any spyware, viruses or malware.
Hacker’s intent of gaining some level of access to your computer have
become even smarter using mail, plug-ins, cloaking and more new deviant ways.
There are many types of software that can help protect your computer including
internet protection, spyware protection and antivirus protection. Some of the
protection companies e.g. Norton produces products which offer a complete protection.
This product is called Norton 360. Other providers also supply this kind of
protection are McAfee,
CA, AVG and Kaspersky
Before buying any software make sure you do your research so that you can buy
the software which suits your own particular requirements.
Always follow these basic rules when using your computer with or without
antivirus software.
1. Don't open an attached file if you don't know what it is, who sent it to
you, or you weren't expecting it (still if it is from individual that you recognise.)
This is particularly true whenever the file bears any of the accompanying extensions:
.pif, .vbs, .scr, .exe
2. Do not apply the preview pane in Outlook. Many viruses can infect a home
computer just from the preview pane.
3. When in question, get hold of the transmitter. Write back to them and ask
what the attachment is. Whenever the attachment comprises valid, they will assure
you what it is and what it does.
4. To for good delete a suspicious emails / message, select the email and just
hit delete. This will then be deleted forever and will not be able to harm your
computer.
